The Celtics were missing three players due to injury (Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, and Mickael Pietrus), and two more were held out of action by Doc Rivers strictly to obtain some rest (Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett) against the Hawks on Friday night. Despite missing five core players the Celtics were able to linger around for the majority of the game, but ultimately fell short, 97-92.
Avery Bradley led an inspired effort with a career-high 28 points on 12-of-22 shooting. Meanwhile, Joe Johnson scored 30 points (11-of-18 shooting) for the Hawks.
